The Season after Pentecost

PRAYER FOR PEACE

O God, from whom all love proceeds, hear our prayer, not for justice, but for peace, not for reconciliation, but for peace.  The people of Hamas and Israel are all uour people of Abraham, move their hearts and minds to stop the killing - to stop answering atrocity with atrocity.  Whether killed by sword, bullets, or bombs let the dead speak out for an end to the slaughter of the innocents.

We plead for an end to the terrorism and an end to the genocide.  Let there be peace in Gaza, in Israel, in the Palestine territory, Lebanon and the West Bank.  Still the winds of war that have destroyed every peace effort.  Bless the peace makers and give them courage to continue their efforts so that the land is not further drenched in the blood of inocents.  Forgive us all our sins of violence and let each of us bring peace to our world.  Amen
